How To Annotate

View and Navigate in the 3D Interface

Click and drag the right mouse button.

Key panning (only in the 3D Mode)

Use the following hotkeys to move the camera in their respective modes:

Helicopter Mode (Shortcuts):

  • WASD : Move forward/ Left/ Back/ Right

  • QE : Fly Up/ Down

  • Arrow keys to look around

  • Mouse wheel : Zoom control

Orbital Mode (Shortcuts):

  • WASD : Orbit around Forward/ Right/ Backwards/ Left

  • Arrow keys to slide Top/ Left/ Down Right

  • Mouse wheel : Zoom control

Goto Speed Controls to change the speed.

Zoom in/out

Mouse wheel

  • Scroll using the mouse wheel to zoom in/out.

Double-click

  • Double-click in the viewer to zoom in.

Hide objects

  • Select/hover the object you want to hide/show

  • Press the eye icon in the Class List

Toggle Between 2D and 3D View in the Perspective View

  • Press the hotkey (Ctrl + G).

Jump to Origin

  • Press the hotkey (O).

Distance From Origin

  • Press the hotkey (1)

  • When you move your cursor to another point on the ground plane the distance measurement is shown in a toaster at the top. This measurement is in meters if the scale of your point cloud is true to life.

  • Click Esc to go back to annotating

Ruler Mode

  • Press the hotkey (2)

  • Click on the ground plane as the starting point

  • When you move your cursor to another point on the ground plane the distance measurement is shown in a toaster at the top. This measurement is in meters if the scale of your point cloud is true to life.

  • Click again to go back to annotating

Upload, view, and overlay images

See Steps to Load LiDAR Data in the Tool for information on how to add camera images and calibration parameters to a dataset.

Open/Close the Reference Images

You can see the thumbnails of the images at the bottom of the main labeling window.

Open the Reference Image

  • Click on the expandable bar at the bottom of the main labeling window

  • Double click or contextual click and select Annotate Image

  • The cuboid projection, point projection and indication of camera angle is only visible if the camera parameters of the image are specified.

Close the Image Viewer

  • Press hotkey O
