Cuboid

The cuboid drawing tool can be used to both capture volumes and segment the point cloud.

Create a new Cuboid

  1. Ensure the point cloud is visible

  2. Select the "cuboid" tool by clicking on the ‘+’ icon in the Class List on the left

  3. In the 3D view drop the cuboid on the object or in the 2D view draw a cuboid using the 3-click cuboid drawing method.

  4. Simultaneously, the annotation is being projected in the image(s)

  5. The direction value of the cuboid is adjusted

  6. The Annotation Details panel appears.

  7. Provide the instance and mandatory attributes and save

  8. The cuboid gets propagated across the entire sequence at the same location.

The annotation is created and visible on the Class List. A box is drawn beside the annotation to denote it is a cuboid.

Select a Cuboid

There are several ways to select the annotation.

  • Use the mouse and click on the annotation

  • Select the annotation from the Class List

Change the Dimensions of a Cuboid

Select the annotation

  • Change the cuboid's dimensions by using the mouse by dragging the handles

  • Use the keyboard hotkeys

    • increase, decreases the height of cuboid

      • Shift + 9, Shift + 0, Shift + -, Shift + =

    • increase, decrease the length of cuboid

      • Ctrl + 9, Ctrl + 0, Ctrl + -, Ctrl + =

    • increase, decrease the width of cuboid

      • Alt + 9, Alt + 0, Alt + -, Alt + =

Move a Cuboid

Select the annotation

  • Click and drag the blue square in the middle of the cuboid to move the cuboid freely

  • Use keyboard shortcuts:

    • move entire cuboid to one direction

      • Shift/Ctrl/ Alt + O, Shift/Ctrl/ Alt + P

Rotate a Cuboid

Select the annotation

  • Change the cuboid's rotational values by using the mouse and dragging the arcs

  • Use the keyboard hotkeys

  • Rotation of cuboids

    • Roll - Shift + [, Shift + ]

    • Yaw - CTRL + [, CTRL + ]

    • Pitch - ALT + [, ALT + ]

Change the Direction of a Cuboid

Select the annotation

  • Change the direction of the cuboid by clicking the rotation button

  • Use the keyboard hotkey [R]

Change the Category of a Cuboid

Select the annotation

  1. Open the Annotation Details panel

  2. Select the new classification

  3. Save

Copy/Paste a Cuboid

Intra Frame

This duplicates the dimensions within the same frame

  • Select the annotation

  • Press the hotkeys CTRL+D

  • Click on the object

Inter Frame

This copies and pastes the dimensions along with the annotation details in the next/previous frames

  • Select the annotation

  • Press the hotkeys CTRL+C

  • Move to the next/previous frame

  • Press the hotkeys CTRL+V

Delete a Cuboid

There are several ways to delete the cuboid. First, select the annotation you want to remove, then do any of the following

  • Press the hotkey (Del)

  • Contextual click the annotation and select Add/Delete annotation

  • Click the trash icon next to the object in the Class List on the left

Since there are multiple instances of the same annotation within the same frame and across the sequence, the user is prompted with the following 4 choices:

Current Frame x

Delete selected annotation

This deletes the annotation from the current frame and specific sensor i.e. the count for this is always 1

Delete all annotations of object (n)

This deletes the annotation from the current frame and all sensors. The number of annotations present on the frame is mentioned beside this option.

Entire Sequence

Delete selected annotation (n)

This deletes the annotation from the entire sequence on the specific sensor. The number of annotations present on that sensor is mentioned beside this option

Delete all annotations of object (n)

This deletes all the annotations from the entire sequence visible in all sensors. The number of annotations present in the sequence is counted and mentioned beside this option.
